The Indianapolis Indians and Invoke Yoga hosted their first ever Yoga in the Outfield today, prior to their afternoon baseball game. I was lucky to serve as a volunteer and over 200 yogis participated, including a few Indians players. It was fun to see a baseball field filled with rows and rows of yoga mats.
I volunteered as a demonstrator and hopefully helped people understand what was going on. I was just relieved my rear side was never featured on the Jumbo-tron. I went with my friend Annie (also a Denver friend) and Emily, a yoga instructor.
On a side note, I’ve been thinking about FOMO lately. FOMO, as the kids call it these days, is the ‘Fear Of Missing Out.’ I think everyone experiences a little FOMO with the dominance of social media, but you have to remind yourself that what you are doing at this very moment is exactly what you’re supposed to be doing.
Life was so much easier before Instagram when you had no idea what your friends and even acquaintances are doing every minute of the day. Some of my favorite memories were never Instagrammed, tweeted, or shared on Facebook.
While, I share much of my life with the Instagram world, remember that no one has a perfect life. Not being at an event does not diminish who you are as a person. So, get out there and live life. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing. Easier said than done, but I promise, you’ll be happier when you change your mindset to be content in the moment.
